“Christ the Example”

The Lord has placed upon my heart a message to let go of your old self, let go of your past failures and be the person God created you to be.

During camp almost all of you made the decision to put away sin and to live for the Lord

1. (EPH 4:1) Lead a Life Worthy of Your Calling

a) Christianity is mocked today because Christians are not living worthy of their calling

If God was writing you a letter, what would he say to you in regards to how you are living your life

Philippians 1:27 “Above all, you must live as citizens of heaven, conducting yourselves in a manner worthy of the Good News about Christ.

Molly’s work, Christianity is mocked because of Christians playing the hypocrite.

Calling themselves Christians, yet living as a non-believer (Not living in a worthy manner)

1.1 (V2) Treat others as you as you want to be treated

Be humble, gentle, patient, making allowances for peoples faults because of your love

1.2 (V17) Live no longer like the Gentiles (No longer live as an unbeliever)

Throw off your old sinful ways

2. (EPH 5:1) Imitate God in Everything you do, as Dear Children

a) Children naturally follow the example of their parents

Our children copy our prayers, my son is a Raider fan because I grew a Raider fan

b) Jesus followed the example of our heavenly Father and were called to follow the example of Christ (V2)

How? (5:1-5) Your Behavior

Remain pure

No obscene stories

No foolish talk or coarse jokes

3. (V6) Don’t be Fooled by Those Who Try to Excuse Their Sin

a) Some will tell you that you can live in whatever way you please because God loves us

God is unchanging and His word is true

3.1 (V10) Carefully determine what pleases the Lord

3.2 (V17) Don’t act thoughtlessly but understand what the Lord wants you to do
